A Full Cheek gives a horse the clear signal to turn. The cheek extending upwards and downwards puts pressure on the side of the face, providing lateral guiding effect to turn. Due to the over length, full cheek prevents the bit from being pulled through the mouth. Leather Fulmer loops can be used to secure cheek in correct position.

A rigid but soft double joint design with 3 ring gag. A 3-ring gag with two sets of reins gives a rider the ability to send both horizontal and vertical signal. The first rein is attached to the largest middle ring which works to give a horse direct pressure to turn. The second rein is connected to the lower ring, and gives gag action. When the second rein is pulled the lower cheek tilts at the fulcrum point of top ring to which cheekpiece is attached, and slides in the mouthpiece. It gives pressure on both the poll and the corner of mouth simultaneously. It exercises strong control by leverage and works to elevate a horse. Useful bit for a strong horse who tends to lean on bit or in need of retraining.

This rounded mouthpiece is designed to fit well in a horse’s mouth, and the eggbutt rings gives a horse clear pressure to turn. The ring is fixed to the mouthpiece allowing it to move back and forth and does not rotate like loose ring, preventing it from pinching the lip. Good design to start with young horses.

There are two loops on the ring, and if the cheekpiece is attached to the top, then when a rein is pulled it gives slight pressure on the poll and the corner of mouth. If the rein is attached to the bottom, then it applies more pressure.
